چکیده

We present in this paper a linear blind multiuser receiver, referred to as the Capon receiver, for code-division multiple-access (CDMA) systems utilizing multiple transmit antennas and space-time (ST) block coding. The Capon receiver is designed by exploiting signal structures imposed by both spreading and ST coding. We highlight the unique ST coding induced structure, which is shown to be critical in establishing several analytical results, including self-interference (i.e., spatially mixed signals of the same user) cancellation, receiver output signal-to-interference-and-noise ratio (SINR), and blind channel estimation of the Caopn receiver. To resolve the scalar ambiguity intrinsic to all blind schemes, we propose a semi-blind implementation of the Capon receiver, which capitalizes on periodically inserted pilots and the interference suppression ability of the Capon filters, for (slowly) time-varying channels. Numerical examples are presented to compare the Capon receiver with several other training-assisted and (semi-)blind receivers and to illustrate the performance gain of ST-coded CDMA systems over those without ST coding.

Nonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems

Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...

Blind multiuser detection for space-time coded CDMA systems

We propose here a linear blind multiuser detector, referred to as the Capon receiver, for space-time coded CDMA (code division multiple access) systems. The proposed Capon receiver is designed to pass desired signals without distortion, meanwhile minimizing the overall interference signals, irrespective of their origins. It is shown that the Capon receiver achieves similar performance in terms ...

Error Performance Analysis of Multiuser CDMA Systems with Space-time Coding in Rician Fading Channel

In this paper, the error performance of multiuser CDMA system with space-time coding is studied in Rician fading channel, and the corresponding bit error rate (BER) and symbol error rate (SER) analysis are presented. Based on the performance analysis, a simple and effective multiuser receiver scheme is developed. The scheme has linear decoding complexity when it compares to the existing scheme....

Multistage Multiuser Detection for Cdma with Space-time Coding

The combination of Turbo codes and space-time block codes is studied for use in CDMA systems. Each user's data are rst encoded by a Turbo code. The Turbo coded data are next sent to a space-time block encoder which employs a BPSK constellation. The space-time en-coder output symbols are transmitted through the fading channel using multiple antennas. A multistage receiver is proposed using non-l...

Non-iterative joint decoding of space-time codes and multiuser interference in asynchronous DS-CDMA systems

Space-time coding (STC) is an efficient technique to combat severe fading effects and improve system capacity in wireless communications. However, for CDMA communications, multi-antenna transmission increases the multiuser interference (MUI). In addition, if the data rate is high, the processing gain can be quite small, and thus the MUI is further enhanced. In this paper we propose a new non-it...
